LOS ANGELES — Bottega Veneta is embarking on a retail push that will open three stores in California by the beginning of November.

On Saturday, the Italian luxury accessories maker will open a redesigned 2,900-square-foot boutique at 108 Geary St. in San Francisco. On Sept. 7, a 2,300-square-foot boutique will open in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif. A third store, 1,300 square feet, was originally set to open in Santana Row, in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 19. Because of a fire that ravaged one building at the 680,000-square-foot mall earlier this month, that opening has been pushed back to Nov. 7, the day the center is scheduled to reopen.

All three stores will incorporate elements of Bottega’s new retail concept, which the company is rolling out worldwide with stores in New York, Paris, Beverly Hills and London. The design includes expansive ceiling heights and clear glass window facades. The interiors include warm, neutral colors with dark African Iroko wood, brushed steel, beige UltraSuede and chocolate leather.

"I wanted to apply the same principles that guide the design of our products to the design of the store," said Tomas Maier, creative director of Bottega, a division of the Gucci Group.

With this trio, Bottega will have four signature stores in California, representing almost half of its nine doors in the U.S. The redesigned boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills opened in March.
