PARIS — Marc Ramanantsoa has been named managing director of French fashion house Cacharel.
The company said Ramanantsoa, 27, would work closely with Jean Bousquet, the president and founder of Cacharel. His duties include strategic management, developing short- and long-term plans for the brand, global expansion and the ethos of the ready-to-wear lines, designed by U.K. duo Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto.
Cacharel has seen its share of management turbulence lately. Ramanantsoa replaces Philippe Cardon, who was hired in fall 2007 as chief executive officer, but was let go last February amid speculation of clashes with Bousquet.
