NEW YORK -- Capital Cities/ABC Inc. has named Robert A. Iger president and chief operating officer.
Iger was executive vice president of the company and president of the ABC Television Network Group. As president of Capital Cities/ABC, he succeeds Daniel B. Burke, who retired in February. Burke had also been chief executive officer, a post resumed by Thomas S. Murphy, chairman, upon Burke's retirement. Murphy continues as chairman and ceo.
The company also named David Westin to succeed Iger as president of the ABC Television Network Group. Westin had been the television group's president of production.
Capital Cities/ABC is the parent of Fairchild Publications.
