PARIS — Christian Lacroix has promoted Terry Esther Cohen to chief operating officer.

Previously, Cohen was Lacroix's senior vice president of sales and business development for the Americas, having joined the French firm last January from Lanvin, where she had been its exclusive U.S. agent.

Cohen succeeds Nathalie Franson, who in June joined Azzaro as chief executive officer.

Cohen reports to Lacroix ceo Nicolas Topiol and will continue to oversee the Americas zone, responsible for such functions as commercial, production, communications and general services.

A graduate of the French fashion school IFM, Cohen has held executive positions at Karl Lagerfeld and acted as an agent in the Americas for such brands as Thierry Mugler, Balmain, Rochas, Nina Ricci, Sonia Rykiel, Charles Jourdan and Swarovski.
