NEW YORK — Carmine Petruzello has been named president of Enyce.
He succeeds Evan Davis, one of the three founding partners of Enyce, who has left the company by mutual agreement in order to pursue other interests. Liz Claiborne Inc. purchased Enyce in November 2003.
In this new role, Petruzello will be in charge of the direction of the entire brand, including Lady Enyce, the company's junior sportswear line. He reports to Karen Murray, group president, men's wear, for Liz Claiborne Inc.
Earlier, Petruzello was president of Marc Ecko Cut & Sew, where he helped to launch the brand. Before that, he was president of Guess Kids, which he joined after a stint as senior vice president of the children's division at Tommy Hilfiger, where he was responsible for sales and merchandising. Petruzello also spent seven years at Federated Department Stores as vice president of men's collections, young men's and boys'. While there, he was instrumental in the launch of the urban streetwear and status denim departments.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
