ATLANTA — AmericasMart has shaken up its executive ranks, naming Lori Kisner senior vice president for all apparel leasing and trade show sales.
Her appointment comes with the departures of Lawton Hall, who worked at the mart for 31 years and was senior vice president of apparel leasing, and Chuck Corvi, project manager of apparel trade shows for about four years.
The changes were announced by Jeffrey L. Portman, president and chief executive officer of AmericasMart’s parent company AMC Inc.
Portman, Kisner, Hall and Corvi were not available for comment.
Kisner is a former executive at Surf Expo, an activewear and lifestyle trade show that she helped create more than 20 years ago under the ownership of AMC. It was acquired by DMG World Media in 1999.
Before joining Surf Expo, Kisner worked for AmericasMart from 1986 to 1988 as the men’s and boys’ trade show sales coordinator. She is taking her new position less than two weeks before the March 28 to 30 apparel and accessories trade show, and will oversee all women’s, men’s, children’s bridge and accessories lines.
The 2.1 million-square-foot AmericasMart is home to more than 550 showrooms and about 1,000 booths and stages five annual markets.
Julie Routenberg, owner of two contemporary Potpourri boutiques in the Atlanta area and longtime AmericasMart shopper, was surprised by the executive changes.
She said Hall “sought out other [industry] opinions rather than just sticking to what the company line was.”
