PARIS — Exports now account for 87 percent of revenues for French fashion companies, according to a survey of 30 members of the industry’s top governing body made by the Institut Français de Mode.

The Asian market generates 46 percent of those sales, found the survey compiled for the Fédération Française de la Couture, du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode. Meanwhile, the Americas and the rest of Europe each makes 17 percent.
