PARIS — Hennes & Mauritz AB said same-store sales rose by 1 percent in October after after falling 2 percent in September.

Sales in local currencies climbed 11 percent, an improvement over September, when they gained 7 percent, the Swedish high-street retailer said.

In October 2012, H&M had reported a five percent drop in same-store sales and a 4 percent gain in local currencies. The company only releases percentage changes for monthly sales.

Fourth-quarter sales figures are to be reported on Dec. 16.

The store count stood at 3,081 locations on Oct. 31, compared with 2,715 on the same date last year.
