PARIS — Hennes & Mauritz AB said sales in local currencies rose by 10 percent in December after jumping 21 percent in November.

The Swedish high-street retailer did not publish same-store sales data. Nils Vinge, head of investor relations at H&M, said it would no longer be providing same-store sales because its physical and online expansion meant “the base for comparison becomes distorted and very complex.”

In December 2012, H&M had reported an 8 percent gain in local currencies. The company only releases percentage changes for monthly sales.

The store count stood at 3,176 locations on Dec. 31, compared with 2,809 on the same date the previous year. H&M is scheduled to publish full-year results on Jan. 30.
