Paris - Hennes & Mauritz, the Swedish fashion giant, reported a 2 percent drop in same-store sales in September.
In local currencies, revenues for the month rose 10 percent, lifted by the addition of new stores in Asia.
The retailer had 1,659 stores at the end of September, up 14 percent from the 1,452 outlets it had a year earlier.
“September was not an easy month for clothing retailers with the beginning of consumer uncertainty and odd weather patterns,“ said Tony Shiret, a retail analyst at Credit Suisse.
