IMG HIRE: Sports, entertainment and media firm IMG tapped Maureen Reidy to be chief operating officer of its fashion division, a new post. Reidy was most recently president and chief executive officer of NYC Big Events Inc., which works to bring large-scale events to New York City, including the MTV Video Music Awards, the Latin Grammys and the Republican National Convention. Reidy, who was appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, also was the city's chief marketing officer. In her new job, Reidy will run the day-to-day operations and management functions at IMG Fashion, which produces events such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and FashionWeekLive. She will report to Chuck Bennett, IMG Fashion's senior corporate vice president.

TRUE RELIGION SWIM: True Religion Apparel Inc., the premium denim company based in Vernon, Calif., said it signed a licensing agreement with New York's InGear Swimwear LLC to design, produce and distribute swimwear for women, men and children. Aiming to make its first shipment in November, True Religion said it will unveil the line at Miami Swim next month. Evoking a neo-bohemian flair with crochet, beading and vintage-inspired prints such as paisley, the swimwear also will be featured in the July 12 runway show produced by IMG Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach.
