NEW ROXY BRANDS PRESIDENT: Quiksilver Inc. appointed Carol Christopherson, president of retail, as president of the Roxy and Raisins brands for the American regions, effective June 1. Christopherson, who also will manage the Leilani and Radio Fiji labels, succeeds Steve Tully. He was named president of the Quiksilver brand for the Americas, a new position. Christopherson will oversee merchandising and design, sales, marketing and, in conjunction with Tully, visual merchandising production. Quiksilver said it is searching for a new president of retail.

ADVISER FOR SOLOMON FIRM: Michael P. Sherman has joined Peter J. Solomon Co., an independent investment bank in Manhattan, as a senior adviser. A multichannel retailing entrepreneur, Sherman founded Crosstown Traders in 2002 and was vice chairman until its sale in 2005 to Charming Shoppes. Previously, he spent six years at Fingerhut Cos., joining in 1996 as executive vice president of business development and general counsel. After Federated Department Stores' acquisition of Fingerhut in 1999, Sherman became president, a position he held until 2002. Sherman was chairman of the Direct Marketing Association in 2002 and is now a director of the organization.
