Seth Udasin, former chief financial officer of The Children’s Place, has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial and administrative officer of Syms Corp. He succeeds Philip Piscopo, who left the firm three months ago, and reports to Marcy Syms, chairman and chief executive officer of the Secaucus, N.J.-based off-price retail chain. Since concluding a 20-year stay at Children’s Place, Udasin has served as an independent consultant to small and midsize retail and service companies. In recent months, the 50-store Syms has appointed Joel Feigenbaum as chief integration officer, directing the merger of Syms with Filene’s Basement, and Jason Somerfield, previously with Burlington Coat Factory, as senior vice president and general merchandising manager.
