Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. has licensed Free Country Ltd. to manufacture and market women’s and men’s outerwear under the Izod label. The lines will be distributed to department and specialty stores beginning in the fall. The licensing agreement covers the Izod brand, as well as Izod LX, Izod PFX and Izod XFG sublabels. Retail prices are expected to be in the $100 to $225 range. Collezione SA Corp. continues as PVH’s licensee for women’s and men’s leather outerwear sold in the U.S. under the Izod label. Gary Silverman, previously vice president of sales at Jantzen and Speedo, has joined Free Country as national sales manager of the Izod outerwear division, based at 80 West 40th Street.
