Kellwood Co. has named Sandra Campos as president of O Oscar, its better-priced licensed line. She succeeds Maria Viccaro, who resigned last week.
Campos had been president of designer packaging company Mobi Inc., a company she co-founded in 2005. Previously, she served in senior vice president posts at Polo Ralph Lauren, Nautica and Polo Jeans.
Kellwood holds the license for the Oscar de la Renta better line, which relaunched exclusively at Macy's in spring 2007. The Kellwood-Oscar de la Renta collaboration failed as a moderate line, and industry sources said the new line is struggling, along with the traditional better market in general.
Campos reports to James Weinberg, group president of Kellwood's Designer Alliance, the division the $2 billion Kellwood created in its restructuring last month after posting a $66.3 million second-quarter continuing operations loss. Designer Alliance consists of the women's better and above price point brands, including O Oscar, Calvin Klein women's better sportswear, ck Calvin Klein women's bridge sportswear, David Meister, Hollywould and Democracy.
"Sandra has a strong foundation in building women's better businesses and running the day-to-day operations of the organization across the enterprise from product strategy to retail execution," Weinberg said in a statement. "Her experience with high-profile fashion brands and her business acumen are a welcomed addition to our Designer Alliance."
