NEW YORK — Lerner New York/New York & Co. has appointed John E. DeWolf 3rd to the newly created position of executive vice president, real estate. DeWolf’s responsibilities will include directing the company’s real estate strategy, site selection and acquisition, along with store planning and construction.

"As [we move] forward to pursue targeted growth, deploying a real estate strategy tailored to our unique needs is a key management priority," said Richard P. Crystal, president and chief executive of the retailer. Sales for Lerner’s 522 stores were $940 million in 2001.
