After a lackluster year on the mergers and acquisitions front in 2013, the pace of deals is slowly beginning to pick up this year as more companies are actively scouting brands to add to the fold. But while their interest in deal-making is percolating, potential buyers are showing incredible restraint in waiting for the right assets to emerge.
