PARIS — Neiman Marcus has named Gabrielle De Papp vice president of public relations and fashion presentation, effective July 10. She succeeds Ken Downing, who in March was promoted to senior vice president and fashion director.
De Papp comes to the Dallas-based retailer from one of its favorite suppliers, the Swiss designer firm Akris, where she has been director of public relations for the U.S. since 2001.
"Gabrielle's style and vast knowledge of fashion presentation and media relations made her an excellent choice for this key position," Karen Katz, president and chief executive officer of Neiman Marcus Stores, said in a statement.
Prior to joining Akris, De Papp was fashion and retail editor at Boston Magazine and a contributor to Elegant Wedding and Philadelphia Magazine. She has also worked at News Corporation in her native Australia.
De Papp will be based in Dallas and manage the corporate p.r. office of Neiman Marcus Stores. She reports to Steve Kornajcik, senior vice president, marketing and creative services.
