Audemars Piguet on Tuesday announced Philippe C. Merk would become its international chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1.

Audemars Piguet, the high-end Swiss watchmaker, on Tuesday announced Philippe C. Merk would become its international chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1. Merk, ceo of Switzerland’s Desco Luxury Group, which operates the Maurice Lacroix watch brand, will replace Georges-Henri Meylan, who has worked at Audemars for more than two decades. Meylan will remain a member of the board of directors, the company said.
