NEW YORK -- Gruppo Intermoda Ltd., a new importer and distributor here, plans to build its business on a diversified lineup of lingerie from Italy and France, ranging from sleek and tailored to saucy and wild.

The Italian lines of lingerie represented are Image, Ritratti and Papillon. French lines are Ravage and the licensed Nina Ricci collection. The firm also represents the licensed line of legwear and bodywear by Moschino.

Fran Nassberg, president and owner of Gruppo, pointed out her aim was to create "one-stop shopping" for buyers looking for fashion lingerie from Europe. The firm's showroom is at 745 Fifth Ave., between East 57th and 58th Streets.

"We felt that if the looks were diversified enough and didn't compete with each other, we could be successful," she said. This is Nassberg's first venture into the fashion business. She was formerly a real estate broker.

First-year sales for the firm are projected at $900,000, said Filip Grozea, vice president of sales and marketing. Deliveries for all of the lingerie lines are scheduled for early September, he said.

Grozea was formerly vice president of marketing in the U.S. for La Perla for seven years.
