NEW YORK — Uni-World Capital LP, a private equity firm, has recapitalized Preferred Fragrance, a developer and marketer of designer-inspired, private label and licensed celebrity fragrances. The investment looks to immediately facilitate operational efficiencies, customer service and expand product offerings. Preferred Fragrance founder Ezriel Polatsek will maintain a significant ownership stake.
“We believe UWC shares our vision of creating affordable yet fun, high-quality fragrances that appeal to all ages. Their support will help the business accelerate to new heights, while continuing to provide our loyal customers with trusted and reliable products,” stated Polatsek.
In 2010, Apra International LLC, an affiliate of Preferred Fragrance, created a scent by platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks, Jordin Sparks Because of You.
Mickey Klein, partner and head of Astor Group’s consumer practice, said, “The celebrity fragrance sector is one that continues to be hot in a soft market; as new stars arise, there is not a shortage of consumers and businesses that want to associate with them.”
“I was touched by the fact that she lost her father, really before his time, and it was a real shock. She had two young children, she was married and she was expecting that she would have her own life for a good 25 years,” said Claire Foy about playing a young Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s The Crown.
