NEW YORK — Julie Younglove-Webb has been named senior vice president and general manager of Sears Essentials and Sears Grand, Sears Holdings Corp. said Friday.
She replaces Kathy David, who left the company this month to pursue other interests. Younglove-Webb was vice president of space planning for Kmart stores, where she directed store refurbishment, while supporting the Sears Essentials rollout.
In her new role, Younglove-Webb oversees store development, store operations and merchandising for the two off-the-mall formats. She reports to Aylwin B. Lewis, president of Sears Holdings and chief executive officer of Kmart and Sears Retail, who on Thursday becomes ceo and president of Sears Holdings.
Lewis said Younglove-Webb will refine and expand Sears Essentials while continuing to refine Sears Grand. A Sears Securities and Exchange Commission filing indicates that 32 Sears Essentials were operating at the end of July, 50 should be open by the end of 2005, and 400 Kmarts could convert to Sears Essentials in the next two or three years.
