SIERRA SALE: American Recreations Products, St. Louis, a subsidiary of Kellwood Co., has signed an agreement to acquire Sierra Designs, a division of Odyssey International.
Terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to be completed in early May.
Sierra will continue to be based in Berkeley, Calif., and Sally McCoy will continue as managing director, said an ARP spokeswoman. The firm markets and distributes camping equipment and upscale apparel for backpacking and mountain climbing for men and women.
ARP manufactures and imports camping equipment and related products under the Wenzel, Slumberjack and Kelty brands, distributed to moderate-price and better specialty retailers.
