NEW YORK — Only a month after announcing expansion plans, the three-year-old Skinmarket beauty chain has closed its doors.
Company executives declined Thursday to speak about the shutdown, but an associate answering the phone at its Carpenteria-Calif. corporate office confirmed that all of the chain’s stores were shuttered as of the first week of August. The Skinmarket Web site has also been discontinued.
