LONDON — Stella McCartney will open six stores in India over the next two years as a result of a new distribution deal with TSG International Marketing Pvt. Ltd.

The London-based fashion house said Tuesday the deal with TSG was a long-term one. The first two freestanding stores will open by the end of the year, and the remaining four will follow over the next two years.
In addition to opening stores, TSG holds the exclusive distribution rights to the Stella McCartney brand in India, and will develop the designer’s name there.
“These new store openings strategically complement the brand’s portfolio of stores in New York, London, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Singapore and Moscow — and a network of 600 wholesale accounts worldwide,” said Marco Bizzarri, president and chief executive of Stella McCartney.
In line with the designer’s animal-friendly ethos, Stella McCartney and TSG are also partnering to save endangered Bengali tigers. They will work on PETA India’s “Boycott the Circus” campaign, and on the World Wildlife Fund’s conservation strategy projects.
TSG belongs to the Sachdev Group of companies, and its role is to introduce, manage and operate high-end luxury brands in India. Other companies in TSG’s stable include Aeffe, the Italian fashion group owned by Alberta Ferretti and her family, and Lanvin.
Charu Sachdev, ceo of TSG, said the Stella McCartney brand “fits in perfectly with the portfolio of successful luxury fashion brands TSG already has in India.”
