TOKYO--Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. said Wednesday that Uniqlo’s same-store sales climbed 3.1 percent in May.

Uniqlo has bounced back from two consecutive months of declining comps, which the company had blamed on unusually cool temperatures. Same-store sales dropped 12.4 percent in April and 16.4 percent in March.

“May same-store sales increased year on year, thanks to aggressive sales promotions including the campaign to celebrate the 26th anniversary of Uniqlo,” the company said.

Uniqlo’s monthly sales figures refer to the brand’s business in Japan and exclude the Japanese fast fashion player’s stores overseas.
