TOKYO—Uniqlo saw its same-store sales climb 5.7 percent in January, registering its third consecutive month of growth- albeit at a slowing pace.

Uniqlo parent company Fast Retailing said Tuesday that spring items like machine washable sweaters and stretch skinny jeans sold well but the average spending per customer slid 0.3 percent. Same-store traffic was up 6 percent for the month.

Uniqlo’s monthly sales figures exclude the chain’s stores outside Japan.

The Japanese company is one of the few retailers registering growth in Japan although the January numbers reflect a slowdown. Uniqlo’s same-store sales rose 32.2 percent in November and 10.3 percent in December.
