VF PROMOTION: VF Corp. has named Karl Heinz Salzburger as corporate vice president and promoted him to president of VF International. Salzburger has also been tapped to become a member of VF’s operating committee. He previously served as president of VF Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, a position he has held since September 2006. His responsibilities will continue to include growing VF’s brands in those regions. Salzburger joined VF in 1997 from Benetton Sportsystem SpA, and until 2001 was president of the company’s international outdoor division, responsible for overseeing brands such as The North Face, Vans, JanSport, Reef and Nautica.
NEW CEO AT TANGER: Steven Tanger, president of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc., has been appointed to the additional post of chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1. He succeeds his father, company founder Stanley Tanger, who continues as chairman. Steven Tanger joined the real estate investment trust in 1986 as executive vice president and was named president and chief operating officer in 1995. Tanger has 33 outlet centers, with more than 2,200 stores operated by over 400 different brands.
INGLANDER RETURNS TO LACOSTE: Lacoste USA has rehired Per Inglander as senior vice president of wholesale. Inglander worked at Lacoste from January 1998 to October 2006, beginning as sales planner and leaving as vice president of wholesale. He left to become president at J. Lindeberg USA, then in 2007 became chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based Rozae Nichols. Based in New York, Inglander reports to president and chief executive officer Robert C. Skinner Jr. Inglander, who began Tuesday, replacing Doug Pecore, who left last week.
GILT GROUPE HIRE: Gilt Groupe Inc., the company selling fashion and luxury brands at a steep discount by invitation, named V. Ann Hailey as chief financial officer, effective Jan. 5. Until 2007, Hailey held the post of executive vice president of corporate development at Limited Brands Inc. She served as Limited’s executive vice president and cfo from 1997-2006. Before that, she held financial roles at PepsiCo Inc., Pillsbury Co. and RJR Nabisco Holdings. “Her broad experience in strategic, financial and merchandise planning will be enormously valuable as we expand the company’s footprint,” said Susan Lyne, chief executive officer at Gilt Groupe, which was founded by Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson in 2007. Hailey was also recently named to the board of directors of Avon Inc., and is a director of W.W. Grainger Inc., Realogy Corp. and the Cleveland Federal Reserve Board.

For the holidays, @Burberry partnered with 20-year-old artist @blondeymccoy on a series of three outdoor murals in downtown Manhattan. The murals are McCoy’s interpretation of a Christmas eve party, the idea of charity and the spirit of family. His third mural, pictured here, is the most personal.
