CHICAGO -- Montgomery Ward has acquired the rights to the Ship 'N Shore apparel brand.
Ward's sells name-brand and proprietary merchandise in all of its retail areas. Some of its key apparel brands are Lee, Gloria Vanderbilt, Radcliffe, Connie Sellecca, Bestform, Danskin, Keds, Reebok and LA Gear.
"Brands play a critical role in apparel," said Robert Connolly, Ward's executive vice president for apparel. "That is the heart of our strategy. In the case of Ship 'N Shore, research tells us it is a brand known for high quality, with a loyal following among groups of shoppers whom we serve." Ward's will use the Ship 'N Shore name on a variety of women's apparel items, according to Connolly. The chain has sold Ship 'N Shore Sport casual apparel since 1992.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
