NEW YORK -- The WWD stock index lost 1.26 percent in the week ended Jan. 21, compared with a 1.2 percent gain in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The weakest group performances came from department stores, with each member losing, and specialty stores, with notable declines by Nordstrom Inc., Ann Taylor Stores Corp. and The Gap Inc. The Dow rose 22.52 Friday to a record close at 3,914.48.
