WASHINGTON — The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday that Columbia Sportswear Co. is recalling 1,640 “heated jackets” that pose a burn hazard.
The recall involves seven models of men’s and women’s 2012 Columbia Omni-Heat electric heated jackets sold in the U.S. and Canada from May to January. The polyester jackets have two battery packs located in inner pouches that have overheated in two reported incidents — one in Europe and one in Canada. However, no injuries were reported.
