Almerini, who starts on Dec. 2, recently served as chief operating officer at Diesel Industries USA. At DVF, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s operations, including finance, human resources, legal, distribution, IT, real estate and facilities and making sure the support functions are aligned. He will report to cochairman Joel Horowitz.
“His operational expertise will be instrumental as we continue to grow the DVF brand globally and establish a strong senior management team,” Horowitz said.
Almerini added he will work closely with Horowitz and Diane von Furstenberg “to help drive continued growth and development across the company’s many channels.”
The company has recently seen some changes at the executive level. Longtime president Paula Sutter resigned from her post earlier this month, and will leave on Dec. 31. DVF is currently searching for a chief executive officer.
