NEW YORK — Amy Shecter, former president of C. Wonder and Electric Love Army at Burch Creative Capital, has been named president of Elie Tahari Collection.
She will report to Elie Tahari, chairman, and Bob Galvin, chief executive officer.
At C. Wonder, Shecter was responsible for building a multiplatform global business from its conception. She executed all aspects of the brand concept from inception through retail, e-commerce and international expansion. The brand is opening its 20th store on Friday. Electric Love Army is Burch’s sportswear collection with Kelly Cutrone, which will launch next year. Shecter joined C. Wonder in 2010. Earlier, she held such posts as vice president of global retail at Tory Burch; senior vice president, global retail and retail operations at Cole Haan, and vice president of retail at DKNY. She began her career at Bloomingdale’s.
“There is no doubt that Amy will be a valued addition to the company, helping us to pursue our goals of international and retail growth, as well as our licensing, as the business continues to expand,” said Tahari.
As the company celebrates its 40th anniversary, Shecter said she looks forward to continuing to develop Tahari’s existing business and expanding the brand’s overall global presence and product offerings. Tahari has licensed products such as handbags, footwear and accessories, and she said there are so many opportunities for categories such as children’s footwear and beauty.
“Elie Tahari has so much opportunity for global expansion and category development. The brand still has so much upward mobility to expand and grow,” said Shecter, who noted that she intends to expand the infrastructure as well.

“I’m Russian and I love to use all these little tricks that I got from my grandma or my mom. We didn’t have a lot of money for creams or anything like that so we would use a garden as a beauty treatment regime. We’d put cucumber in the fridge and do a cucumber mask,” says model @irinashayk on one of her beauty hacks. WWD asked celebs what their go-to self-care rituals are.
