BERLIN — Stefan F. Heidenreich has been named chief executive officer of Beiersdorf AG. He will succeed Thomas-B. Quaas following the Hamburg-based company’s annual general meeting on April 26; Heidenreich will join Beiersdorf’s executive board Jan. 1. Quass, who has been with Beiersdorf for 33 years, is slated to be elected to the company’s supervisory board.

The 48-year-old Heidenreich will be coming from the Hero Group, a leading international manufacturer of baby foods and preserves, where he spent 15 years, and has served as ceo since 2002. He also previously held roles with Bertelsmann, Reckitt Benckiser and Proctor & Gamble.

Quaas has led Beiersdorf since 2005. He will remain in office until April, then move to the supervisory board. Beiersdorf, which makes Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie, reported 5.57 billion euros in sales for 2010, or $7.4 billion at average exchange for the period.
