Buhler Quality Yarns Corp. has named Marty Moran chief executive officer, following the retirement of ceo Werner Bieri, who during his 30-year career helped establish Buhler as a top high-quality yarn manufacturer.
“Werner [Bieri] and the people here [at Buhler] have built a terrific reputation for quality and service,” Moran said. “My goal is to continue this tradition and help guide Buhler Quality Yarns through the many challenges the entire textile industry faces so we will be able to grow and prosper.”
Moran said among the challenges facing the U.S. textile industry are new free-trade agreements such as the Trans-Pacifc Partnership and U.S.-European Union FTA being negotiated. Moran comes to Buhler following six years as ceo of Radici Spandex Corp. He has sat on the board of the American Fibers Manufacturing Association, of which he was chairman in 2010, and the National Council of Textile Organizations Fiber Council. Buhler Quality Yarns, based in Jefferson, Ga., is the U.S. subsidiary of Hermann Bühler AG, Switzerland.
Buhler yarns are certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and include Supima cotton, MicroModal Edelweiss, Micro Tencel and various blends.
