Burberry Appoints Two Senior Managers

London-based brand appoints Steve Sacks and John Douglas to newly-created roles.

LONDON — Burberry today announced two new appointments to bolster its senior management team.

Steve Sacks has been named senior vice president, customer insight, a newly created role at the company. Burberry said Sacks will be responsible for developing and directing a dedicated team, systems and processes “to develop insights into [customers’] physical and digital interactions” with the brand.

The company said the aim is to enable further understanding of its customers’ behavior in order to drive growth. Sacks was most recently director of customer strategy and insight at Lloyds Banking Group. He will report to Angela Ahrendts, chief executive officer of Burberry.

Meanwhile, John Douglas, formerly chief information officer at Burberry, has been named chief technology officer, another newly created role. His new functions reflect “the central role that Burberry’s technology strategy is playing in the evolution of the company,” the company stated. Douglas also reports to Ahrendts.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
