Coach Hires New Chief Information Officer

The New York-based brand has tapped Christine Putur for the post.

Coach Inc. has tapped Christine Putur as executive vice president and chief information officer.

Taking the reins on Jan. 22, Putur succeeds Tom Britt, who left Coach last year.

Putur joins Coach from Staples Inc., where she was senior vice president and cio.

During her 12-year career at Staples, the executive was responsible for the company’s information technology strategy and its global strategy. She also helped develop the retailer’s e-commerce platform, as well as its retail, supply chain and global corporate strategies. Prior to Staples, she worked at Compaq Computer Corp.

“Chris brings 25 years of broad-based and relevant IT [information technology] experience to Coach. Her expertise and strong operational track record make her a valuable addition to the Coach management team,” said Jerry Stritzke, president and chief operating officer. “At Coach, she will set our IS [information services] strategy and oversee the operation details of service delivery, addressing the needs of our rapidly growing global business.”
