David Johns will join Ascena Retail Group Inc. March 11 as senior vice president and chief information officer.
He succeeds Karen Etzkorn, who left the company earlier this year to join HSN Inc. as cio, and will report to John Sullivan, chief operating officer of the Suffern, N.Y.-based retail firm, which includes chains such as Lane Bryant, Justice and Dress Barn. Johns has spent the last nine years with Owens Corning, most recently as senior vice president, cio and chief global shared services officer. He had previously been chief supply chain officer of the company following service in technology positions with Honeywell and Time Warner.
“David joins Ascena with years of experience and has an impressive record as a leader and innovator,” said Sullivan. “I am pleased to welcome him to Ascena’s team and look forward to the energy, creativity and vision he will bring to this role.”
Ascena operates about 3,800 stores in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada, as well as Web sites for its portfolio of retail nameplates.
