David Yurman Names CFO

Adrianne Shapira will report directly to Yurman ceo Glen Senk, effective Oct. 22.

NEW YORK — David Yurman has named Adrianne Shapira chief financial officer, effective Oct. 22.

Shapira, who will report directly to Yurman chief executive Glen Senk, spent the past 13 years as managing director, global investment research at Goldman Sachs, where she covered the broadlines retail category – often focusing on the luxury sector and department stores.

In the newly created role, Senk said Shapira’s knowledge of the financial and retail sectors will aid in the company’s global expansion, a key initiative since Senk joined Yurman earlier this year.

“If you look at other luxury brands, your logic would tell you that there’s an enormous opportunity for us outside North America,” Senk told WWD in August, noting that the brand’s presence in the European and Asian markets has significant room for growth (there are just five points of distribution for the two regions combined).

The appointment if Shapira follows last month’s announcement of four executive hires by Senk: William Paretti, chief marketing officer; Brendon Lynch, vice president of retail; Ruth Sommers, consultant, and Jill Unruh was named chief talent officer in May.
