NEW YORK— Elizabeth Francis on Friday was named chief marketing officer of Gilt Groupe. She reports to Kevin Ryan, founder and chief executive officer of the members-only designer Web site whose businesses include women’s, men’s, kids and home, reduced up to 60 percent, travel, city-specific offerings and Park & Bond, a full-price online men’s store.
Francis’ responsibilities include Gilt Groupe’s new customer generation and retention programs across all channels, creative direction, brand positioning and research and analytics. She succeeds Alexis Maybank, a founder of Gilt, who stepped in as chief marketing officer six months ago. Maybank, who has held a number of critical roles at the company, will resume her previous position of chief strategy officer.

"That's something that resonates with me too because I'm so locked into a number. If I go over that number it completely ruins my day so it's nice to get detached from the number on the scale." - Chelsea Handler on Kelly LeVeque's book "Body Love." #wwdeye (📷: John Salangsang)
