Victor Lipko, who joined the bridal and eveningwear company in January as acting president, has made a number of executive hires. He remains managing partner at Valko Consulting. An executive search for a permanent president is not expected to get under way until the restructuring is complete.
Leslie Fleming has been named director of sales for evening and ready-to-wear. She replaces Heather Watson. Most recently, Fleming was vice president and director of sales for Peter Som.
Jerry Weinbrom has joined the company as chief financial officer, a new post. Earlier, he was cfo at Calypso and before that was cfo at the Echo Design Group. At Reem Acra, Weinbrom is actively participating in investor discussions.
Renata Correira, a former Oscar de la Renta executive, is now director of bridal sales, taking over a role formerly held by David Cobell.
Another newcomer to the company is Fred Wells, who is head of production. He was most recently production manager at Vera Wang. At Reem Acra, he has streamlined and restaffed the production team to deal with current and anticipated future growth.
Reem Acra, founder and chief executive officer, said, “Victor’s experience running luxury businesses such as Judith Leiber, Christian Dior and Paloma Picasso, as well as his luxury goods consulting practice, brings strength and experience to the company’s infrastructure that will enable us to properly service our customer needs as we grow.”
