Fossil Hires New Chief Operating Officer

The company taps John White, a former president of Pandora North America.

Fossil Inc. has appointed John White as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective Sept. 4.

White, who will focus on long-term strategy, will be responsible for Fossil’s supply chain, distribution, warehousing, legal and information technology operations. He will report directly to chief executive officer Kosta Kartsotis.

White succeeds ex-chief operating officer Michael Barnes, who left Fossil in September 2010 to become ceo of Signet Jewelers Ltd.

“We are [pleased] to have John join our executive team. His track record of driving strategic improvements and operational excellence across large organizations will be invaluable to us as we continue our global expansion,” Kartsotis said.

Most recently, White served as president of Pandora North America, a division of Danish jeweler Pandora A/S. Prior to a three-year stint at Pandora, the executive worked as a strategy consultant for the operations and supply chain strategy and design team at consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton.
