Pina Ferlisi, creative director at contemporary brand Generra, has been named executive vice president of design at Coach Inc., a new post at the accessories firm.
Ferlisi, who starts Jan. 2, will report to Coach president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff. She will focus on women's design.
Ferlisi, 40, had been at Generra since March 2006. Previously, Ferlisi was senior vice president of Gap's adult product development and design. She also spent time as a designer at Theory. Before that, she was creative director at Marc by Marc Jacobs and took part in the 2000 launch. Earlier this year, Ferlisi was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She was not available for comment on Tuesday.
"Essentially, as we're getting bigger and bigger, we're needing more talent," Krakoff said. "Pina is someone I've known a long time. I've really respected her talent and her ability to work with brands. She is a fantastic addition to our team."
A Generra spokesman said the company has no plans to replace its creative director and would go forward with its current team of designers.
"I was driving back on Saturday afternoon from the beach, and I just saw this sign saying 'Skydiving for $95.' And I was like, I can't not sky dive for $95," says Tom Bateman about a moment in Hawaii while shooting "Snatched." #wwdeye (📷: @victoriastevens; Interview by @ktauer; Styled by @thealexbadia)
