Thomas Giacalone has been named vice president of e-commerce at Vera Bradley Inc., the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based handbag and accessories firm.
Since 2012, Giacalone has been vice president of omnichannel strategy and e-commerce operations at OfficeMax. Earlier in his career, he held stores, merchandising, operations and e-commerce posts at Sears Holdings Corp., including divisional vice president and general manager of multichannel management. He has served on the member services committee of shop.org, the digital arm of the National Retail Federation, since 2004.
Once the post is filled, Giacalone will report to the executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Vera Bradley. Until that time, he will report to Robert Wallstrom, chief executive officer of the company.
“Growing our e-commerce business is a critical piece of our five-year strategic plan,” said Wallstrom, “and we are very fortunate to have someone of Tom Giacalone’s background and caliber join Very Bradley to lead this important function.”
