NEW YORK — After a two-year run as chief executive officer of David Yurman Inc., Glen Senk has exited the company to pursue other interests.
Disclosing the news Tuesday with his wife and cofounder Sybil Yurman, David Yurman said that he will again assume the ceo role. “Sybil and I brought Glen in two years ago to help us build a world-class management team and he has done an outstanding job,” David Yurman said. “Part of our success has always been a direct result of our family’s involvement in the management and creative direction of the company, and I look forward to working closely with our exceptional team to help David Yurman Inc. grow even further.”
At press time, it could not be learned where Senk is headed. In recent weeks, rumors have circulated that American Eagle Outfitters Inc. was interested in recruiting him for its top job following the departure of Robert Hanson as ceo. Executives at American Eagle Outfitters did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday.
“I have enormous respect for the David Yurman organization and am proud of our accomplishments over the past two years,” Senk said. “As I leave David Yurman to pursue the next chapter of my career, I do so with confidence that the organization has a world-class team in place to continue the company’s success and strong momentum in the marketplace.”
Senk has “a complex executive compensation package and those details are still being worked out,” according to a source close to David Yurman Inc.
With David Yurman back at the helm and a management team already in place, the company is not believed to be shopping around for a new ceo.
In 2012, Senk surprised many by joining the privately held David Yurman from Urban Outfitters Inc., where he served as ceo for five years. He joined Urban Outfitters in 1994.
The full-time move to the luxury sector was a switch for Senk, though he had served on Yurman’s board for more than a year. He also is a board member at Tory Burch.
Prior to Urban Outfitters, Senk served as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of Williams-Sonoma Inc. and ceo of the Habitat International Merchandise and Marketing Group in London. He started his career at Bloomingdale’s, where he held a variety of posts including managing director of Bloomingdale’s by Mail.
At the time of his departure from Urban Outfitters, Senk collected $942,000 in salary, a $5,000 bonus, $3,000 in other compensation and 1.6 million in option awards, with a value of $16.9 million, that vested during Urban’s 2012 fiscal year, according to the company’s proxy filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission in April 2012.

“I’m Russian and I love to use all these little tricks that I got from my grandma or my mom. We didn’t have a lot of money for creams or anything like that so we would use a garden as a beauty treatment regime. We’d put cucumber in the fridge and do a cucumber mask,” says model @irinashayk on one of her beauty hacks. WWD asked celebs what their go-to self-care rituals are.
