MILAN — Christophe de Pous has been named president of Gucci North America, effective Jan. 1.
De Pous, who is currently president and chief executive officer of Gucci Japan, will report to Patrizio di Marco, Gucci's president and ceo.

De Pous succeeds Laura Lendrum, who left the firm in April after nearly two years in that role. Di Marco oversaw the Americas region in the interim.

At the end of 2011, North America accounted for 18 percent of total Gucci revenues.

De Pous joined Gucci in September 2009 and has since been strengthening the brand’s positioning in Japan, the company said in a statement. He was formerly the president of trading company Bluebell Japan.

Matteo Mascazzini, associate president of Gucci America, will succeed de Pous as president of Gucci Japan and also report to di Marco, effective Jan. 1. Mascazzini joined Gucci in August 2007 and has been developing the American market for the company since May 2010.

Also on Jan. 1, Roberto Correia-Paz will be promoted to president of Gucci Latin America, reporting to di Marco. Correia-Paz joined the luxury goods brand in November 1995.

He was previously head of Latin American Markets and, ad-interim, executive vice president — retail, Northern America, since May 2010. The executive set the foundations of the Latin American business and helped develop Gucci’s retail organization in North America, the company said.
