- PERRY ELLIS GETS LIZ BRANDS: Liz Claiborne has completed the sale of Laundry By Design and C&C California to Perry Ellis International for $37 million. An agreement to sell the two brands was reached in January. Only three of the initial 16 brands that Claiborne placed under review have not been sold. Ellen Tracy, Kensie and Mac & Jac are the remaining brands left to be sorted out, and the company expects to resolve their fate by the end of the first quarter.
- ASTON JOINS ROGER VIVIER: Allison Aston has been named director of communications at luxury accessories firm Roger Vivier. She succeeds Mariah Chase, who left the company in December to become senior vice president at Designers Management Agency. Aston hails from David Yurman, where she was the director of public relations. At Roger Vivier, she is responsible for all marketing, press and events for the Tod's SpA-owned brand in the U.S. Aston reports to Sabine Brunner, general manager of Vivier, and Marco Giacometti, chief executive officer of Tod's USA. Vivier is slated to open a new Milan store this month.
