Laurie Van Brunt has been named brand president for the Soma Intimates division of Chico’s FAS Inc., effective May 17. She will report to David F. Dyer, Chico’s president and chief executive officer, and succeed Verna Gibson, a board member who was filling the role and will assist in the transition. Van Brunt has spent the last five years with J.C. Penney Co. Inc., serving as marketing vice president, director of brand management and, most recently, as a vice president over intimate apparel. She has more than 30 years of retail experience, including 25 in specialty retail with companies such as Chadwick’s of Boston, Lane Bryant and Petite Sophisticate.
