George West, a veteran of the apparel industry, died Nov. 21 atMount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach. He was 75.
The cause of death was not disclosed.
West had an extensive career in the Garment Center that spanned more than 30 years. He owned and operated Sunday’s Work Clothes, a women’s activewear manufacturer, which he started in New York in 1975. He also owned a sportswear company called Dunedeck, as well as other activewear firms, including Stringbean and In Sportswear. He retired from the apparel industry in 2001.
West is survived by a son, David; three daughters, Lisa and Leslie West and Kim Haas, and 11 grandchildren.
