FRETTE TAPS RIANNA: Sal Rianna has been named to the new post of chief operating officer of Frette Inc., a U.S. unit of Milan-based Frette Group. Rianna, who reports to Frette Group chief executive officer Paul Raffin, will oversee all operations in the U.S. He joins the firm from the Donna Karan Co., where he worked since 2000, most recently as vice president of finance and operations for the DKNY brand. He served as corporate manager of financial and strategic planning from 1995 to 2000 at the U.S. unit of GFT, overseeing operations, including Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein and Emanuel Ungaro.
